Taoiseach Leo Varadkar visits ABM Design & Build school project

Today Taoiseach Leo Varadkar paid a visit to Luttrellstown Community College, one of three ABM Design and Build School projects currently onsite for the Department of Education and Skills.

The project in Luttrellstown is a two storey extension to the existing secondary school, including a new multi-purpose community facility. The school extension comprises 8 general classrooms, 8 specialist classrooms, 2 interconnecting lecture rooms, 2 classroom special needs units, sports hall, changing rooms, fitness suite, offices, staff area, sanitary and ancillary accommodation, measuring approx. 4592sqm in total. The extension will increase the long-term enrolment to 1000 post-primary pupils.

Scoil Phadraig, National School, Canal Road, Portarlington, Co Laois & Belmayne ETNS & St Francis of Assisi, Belmayne Avenue, Belmayne, Balgriffin, Dublin 17 are the other two ABM Design and Build Schools currently onsite.

Scoil Phadraig, Portarlinton consists of the construction of a new 3 storey 24 classroom with general purpose hall and 2 class SNU (Special Needs Unit) Primary School with total floor area of 4430 sqm while Belmayne ETNS & St Francis of Assisi, Belmayne, consists of the construction of 2 no. 3 storey 16 Classroom Primary Schools with a total combined floor area of approximately 5500sqm.

ABM Design & Build expect to complete all three schools by January 2019.
