Education

The project consisted of the construction of a new 600 pupil post primary school building with physical education hall, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation, with a total floor area of 8660 sq. m. This project was led on a Design and Build (D&B) basis as part of the Department of Education Rapid Build Schools delivery programme 2015 – 2017. ABM’s role in the project was as Main Contractor and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS).

Project Description:

The project consisted of the construction of a new 600 pupil post primary school building with physical education hall, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation, with a total floor area of 8660 sq. m.

The site works to the school grounds consisted of the provision of 160 no. cycle storage spaces, bin store, ball courts, secure special play area, 1 No. 50 m sq. external material storage building for wood and metal work studies with associated covered work area, landscaping, 1 No. 18 m sq. ESB Substation and boundary treatment and all other associated site development works.

The works to the remainder of the site consisted of the provision of 72 No. car parking spaces, drop-off and pick-up facilities and new access road all on a site C. 3.0 Hectares located at Kilnagleary, Carrigaline, Co. Cork.

The works were completed in 40 weeks.
