ABM Contractors Ltd held our Annual Company Safety and Core Values Day yesterday, the 27th of March at the Grand Hotel, Malahide. The event hosted by Philip Weinmann, ABM General Manager comprised of a number of workshops and round table discussions on the importance of our company safety and core value principles and operations throughout the organisation, to include adopting best practice of Safety First within the culture of our organisation.
ABM enjoyed an inspirational and thought provoking presentation from Safety Keynote Speaker Jack Kavanagh. Jack is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Disability Authority and Center for Excellence in Universal Design and is actively engaged as an advisor to the World Health Organisation in relation to digital and assistive technologies.
This was followed by an engaging and interactive Core Values workshop facilitated by Guest Speaker Gerry Duffy who is an international speaker in the area of Corporate Performance with particular focus on Effective Leadership, Strategy, Goal Setting and Time Effectiveness. The afternoon workshop for all Staff participating, resulted in the team leaving with great food for thought on how to further improve the implementation of ABM’s core values across the organisation, and in particular within our safety operations.
Other speakers on the day included Padraig O’Flynn, Gerard Kelly and Shane Ruane on behalf of the ABM Health and Safety Team, who all gave excellent presentations on key safety operational practices with regard to scaffolding, lifting operations and excavation works.
Concluding remarks on each discussion topic were given by Robert Fraser, ABM Head of Construction who summarised the key learnings and important takeaways from the day.
On behalf of Pat O’Neill, ABM Company Director we would like to thank all Guest Speakers and Staff who attended for their excellent participation and engagement throughout the day.
